It’s the end of January and about one year ago I had started a gratitude challenge. I actually kind of miss thinking about a new topic to be grateful for each week. I still really want to practice being grateful because I truly think it helped me. So I came up with the idea of once a month blogging about something I am very grateful for.
As I started reflecting on what I could be grateful for this month, I realized there was a long list. That long list made me so happy (or it could be the wine I am sipping that is making me happy, who knows!). However I forced myself to pick one thing. The one thing I am really grateful for this month is our diet. I know, dieting really sucks. Honestly though this has been the first time I have seen results. I am down 7 pounds since the start of this month. I have more energy and I don’t crave sweets. I also don’t deprive myself though, I had a cookie 2 days ago and I am drinking wine tonight. What has really made this diet easy though has been the support from my husband (who is down 20 lbs, the jerk). So this month I am very grateful for us focusing on our health. I am very grateful for the support of Darren. I am grateful for all the awesome Pinterest recipes I have found. I am grateful for this blogger’s awesome health tips! I am grateful for recognizing that I wasn’t happy where I was at and that I needed to make a change. So cheers to a new year, a new me, a new diet, and another year of gratitude!
